Choose your impact

Training 3.jpeg

The Just Peoples community is made up of a wide range of individuals and organisations with a common desire - to use what they have to make an impact on the lives of people living in poverty. If you share this desire, why not team up with Just Peoples to make a difference, and let your customers and clients know that you care. Whether it's donating some of your profits to sponsor a Just Peoples micro-project or holding a joint fundraiser, boost your customer and client relationships by coming together for a cause you all believe in.

Fund a micro-project

Just Peoples is taking on poverty one micro-project at a time. We find local heroes who are in need of funds for a specific project, usually costing between $500 and $1,500, and match them with sponsors and fundraisers with a shared passion. Take a look at our list of open micro-projects, and see if there’s something that resonates with you. Chances are, if it’s something you believe in, your staff, customers and clients will too.

Once you’ve found the micro-project that’s right for you, you could fund it outright, or work with your colleagues and/or customers and clients to fundraise. This could include team building exercises, or (depending on your organisation), aligning one of your offerings with Just Peoples. For example, a yoga studio we’re working with runs regular donation based classes, and an online shop is giving a percentage of profits from certain online sales to one of our micro-projects. It’s a great way of showing your customers your values, and involving them in fundraising. You could even ask them to help choose where the money raised goes.

Make a regular donation

Like any organisation, Just Peoples has running costs and as we look to scale up in order to impact even more lives - our target is to impact the lives of 100,000 people by 2020 - these will increase to allow us to pay the salaries of a small core team. By joining our Business Champions and providing a monthly donation, you’ll be helping us to engage with more local heroes, offer more micro-projects to fundraisers, and make a bigger difference to global poverty. Check out the many benefits for your business too! We’re also very grateful for one-off donations if you’re not able to make an ongoing commitment!

Donate in kind

Another great way to get involved is to offer pro-bono services to our central operations. We could use a wide range of skills including graphic design, digital marketing, event planning, accountancy and finance to name just a few, and as we partner with more local heroes we will need to travel more. We also run various competitions and fundraising events (such as our Wine and Cheese nights) and welcome any donations for prizes and refreshments.

Working together

We’d love to hear from you to talk about how we could work together to make a difference to those living in poverty. Whatever form this takes we’ll make sure that we support you, whether that’s through help with fundraising ideas, or amplifying the charity work you’re doing through our social media, not to mention a link to your business from our website - see below!

From the outset Common Goods wanted to give customers the opportunity to give back through a ‘shop your impact’ model. Just Peoples was the ideal organisation to partner with to link products and customers directly with incredible global projects.
